YouTube notifications
Automatic Discord posts when a tracked YouTube channel uploads a video or starts a livestream.
CloudMod posts to your Discord channel when a configured YouTube channel publishes a new video or starts a livestream — the same idea as the Twitch and Kick integrations, but powered by YouTube's public RSS feed, so no API key is required.
Add a channel
In the YouTube tab → Add:
- YouTube channel — paste the channel URL,
@handle, or channel ID - a target channel on the main server
- optionally a role to ping
- optionally a message using the placeholders
{channel},{title},{url} - an embed color (default: YouTube red)
What happens on a new upload
CloudMod reads each tracked channel's public RSS feed periodically. When a new upload or livestream appears, the bot posts an embed with the title, thumbnail and a link, plus your message above it.
- Regular uploads and Shorts arrive through the same feed and are announced.
- Livestream starts are announced when they appear in the feed.
- Clips are not covered — YouTube doesn't expose them in the feed.
Setup notes
- Adding a channel baselines on the latest video, so it never floods your server with the back catalogue.
- CloudMod remembers what it already announced, so a bot restart never re-posts a video.
- No API key or quota to manage — it uses the public feed only.
- Requirement: Send Messages + Embed Links in the target channel.
