Spotify release notifications
Post an embed when an artist you track drops a new single or album.
Track artists on Spotify; when they release something, the bot posts it as a card: the artist's name and picture, the release title as a link, a line like 💿 Album · 🎶 12 tracks · 📅 Mar 7, 2026, any featured artists, a large cover image and a Listen on Spotify button.

Set it up
- Enable Spotify Releases in the Plugin Market (needs Network or higher).
- On the Spotify page, add an artist — by name or by Spotify link, URI or ID — and pick the channel the announcement should go to.
- Optionally set a ping role, a message template and an embed colour.
The template can use {artist}, {title}, {type}, {date} and {url}. Leave it empty for the standard "🎵 Artist just released Title!". Each artist also has an Enabled switch to pause notifications without removing them.
What triggers a post
New singles and EPs, and albums unless you switch Also notify on albums off. Features and compilations are never posted, and neither is the back catalogue: when you add an artist, CloudMod starts from their latest release.
Spotify has no push API for releases, so CloudMod polls roughly every 30 minutes — an announcement lands within about half an hour of the release showing up, not the same second. For a release-day post that is fine; for anything you want to time to the minute, schedule it yourself.
Preview and test
While you add or edit an entry, the dialog shows a live preview of the post — your message, role, color and footer, filled with sample release data. When you edit an existing entry it uses the real artist name and picture. The preview is built by the same code as the real post, so what you see is what your members get.
Each entry has a Send test button. It posts a sample notification to the entry's channel, using the settings you last saved. The test is clearly marked (🧪 Test notification at the start of the message and in the card footer) and never pings the role — the role name appears as plain text. If CloudMod can't post there, the dashboard tells you why (for example a missing Send Messages or Embed Links permission, or a channel that no longer exists).
Good to know
- The dashboard offers channels from your main server.
- Each release is announced once: CloudMod remembers the newest release it has seen per artist.
- If new releases don't show up, set the artist's Spotify market to your region.
- If the announcement can't be posted (for example, missing permissions), that release is skipped, not retried. Check the channel's permissions.
- Artist images are loaded from Spotify's own CDN.
