Applications & form panels
Application forms via Discord modals, with review in the channel and in the dashboard.
Application forms let you collect structured applications right inside Discord and review them as a team.
Create a form
In the Applications tab → New form:
- Name and description
- up to 25 questions — each with a label, a type, required/optional and a placeholder
- a review channel where submissions land
- optionally an Auto role on approve (granted on the main server and distributed via sync)
Switch a form's Active toggle off to pause it — /apply then no longer offers it.
Longer forms: pages of 5
Discord shows at most 5 questions per form window. With more questions, CloudMod splits the form into pages of 5 (the editor marks where each page starts):
- The applicant fills in page 1 and submits it.
- CloudMod replies privately: "Page 1 of 3 saved", with a Continue (2/3) button.
- Continue opens the next page. Nothing reaches your review channel until the last page is submitted — then the whole application arrives as one.
Every question type works on every page, uploads included. Answers from earlier pages are kept for 30 minutes after the last submitted page; after that the applicant sees "Your application expired, please start again". In-progress applications are only kept in memory, so a bot restart also means starting over. Editing a form's questions while someone is halfway through asks them to start again, too.

Every question type works right inside the form window — an upload doesn't make anyone wait for a second message. For an upload, the placeholder becomes a short hint above the file picker ("A screenshot of your stats").
Applying & reviewing
Members start with the slash command /apply — Discord opens a modal with your fields. If more than one form is active on the server, /apply first shows a private picker (up to 25 forms).
To open one form directly, use the form option. It suggests the server's active forms as you type:

A paused form gets a clear "currently paused" reply, and a name that doesn't exist says so instead of guessing.
After submitting:
- the bot posts the application as an embed in the review channel with Approve/Reject buttons,
- or you review it in the dashboard Applications tab (list, filter by status, approve/reject).
On approve the auto-role is granted, if configured — but only if the applicant is on the main server; otherwise it is skipped.
- Only members with Manage Server can approve or reject in Discord (and promote or dismiss after a trial).
- Reject asks for a reason first. It's optional; if you give one, it appears on the review message and next to the application in the dashboard. Rejecting in the dashboard works the same way.
- Applicants aren't notified of the decision by CloudMod. Tell them yourself, or let the role speak for itself.
Button panel
Instead of relying on /apply, you can post a Button panel for a form: a card with a title, your text and an Apply now button in a channel you choose. Clicking it opens the same form window. The button label, an optional emoji and the colour of the card's edge are yours to set. Mentions in the panel text are shown but never ping anyone.
Repost deletes the old panel message and posts a fresh one, so pins and anything pointing at the old message are lost.
In the review embed, choice answers are marked (🔘 one pick, ☑️ several) and uploads show 📎 with the file names. Images appear as a gallery right in the review message: up to 4 in one grid, up to 8 in two. More images and every other file (PDFs, videos, …) follow right below it. The files are copied into the review channel, so they stay with the application — CloudMod doesn't store them itself. A file larger than your server's upload limit can't be copied; the embed names it instead.
A long application doesn't fit in one Discord embed. Answers that don't fit are posted directly below as "(continued)" messages, in question order.
In the dashboard, every answer is shown under its question.
Trial period
Turn on Start with a trial in a form, and approving an applicant gives them a trial role for a set time (1 hour to 30 days) instead of the final role. When the trial ends, one of three things happens — you pick which:

Counting activity is opt-in. With "Count messages and voice minutes during the trial" on, CloudMod keeps two numbers per applicant on your main server: how many messages they sent and how many minutes they spent in voice channels (the AFK channel doesn't count). Never what they wrote, where, or when. Your team sees both numbers when the trial ends, and the dashboard shows them next to the application.
If CloudMod can't change a role when the trial ends (usually because its role sits too low), the trial stays open and it tries again every minute — a trial role is never left behind silently.
Requirements
- Send Messages and Embed Links in the review channel (and in the panel channel, if you post a button panel)
- Attach Files in the review channel, if a form has an upload question — without it the application still arrives, and the embed says the files couldn't be copied
- Manage Roles, if an auto-role or a trial role is used — both roles must sit below the CloudMod role
