Team dashboard
Give your staff their own page at team.cloudmod.io. They sign in with Discord, and Discord roles decide who gets in and what they can do.
The team dashboard is a separate page for your staff at team.cloudmod.io. Team members sign in with Discord, see the teams they belong to and look up the team list. Nobody needs a CloudMod account, and nobody needs access to your project's dashboard.
You decide who gets in with Discord roles of your main server. CloudMod never hands those roles out; you do that in Discord, as you always do.
How access works
Two kinds of roles are involved:
- Team role. One role that marks "this person is on the team". Without it nobody gets in.
- Career roles. Your ranks, for example Trial Moderator, Moderator, Admin. Each career is tied to one Discord role.
Every career belongs to a permission group, a set of rights. Someone with several careers counts with the highest one: they get the rights of that career only, never a mix.
CloudMod reads the person's roles from Discord whenever they open a page, so a role you take away stops working within a minute. The @everyone role and roles managed by a bot or integration can't be used.
Set it up
- Open Team in the project sidebar (right below Health Check).
- Pick the team role.
- Under Permission groups, add a group and switch on the rights it should have.
- Under Careers, add your ranks. Pick a Discord role and a permission group for each, and sort them with the arrows: highest rank first.
- Switch Team dashboard on and Save. Share the address shown on the page with your staff.
A team can have up to 12 careers and 10 permission groups. A role can only be used once, as team role or as career role.
What your staff see
- Your teams. The teams where they hold the team role and a career role. With a single team they land in it directly.
- Your rank and rights. Which career they count with and what it allows.
- Team list. Everyone on the team with name, avatar, career and the date they were first listed. Only careers with the right See the team list see it.
The team list is a copy of Discord. When you hand out or take away the team role or a career role, the list follows within a few seconds; as a safety net CloudMod also compares it every few minutes, and saving the setup compares it at once. The direct address of the team works immediately, because access is read from Discord on every visit.
Good to know
- The team dashboard belongs to the main server of the project. Sub-servers are not part of it.
- Switching it off removes the copy of the team list. Your setup (groups, careers) stays, so you can switch it on again.
- Signing in reads only the Discord name and avatar. Sessions last 7 days or until the person signs out.
- If the page says a team doesn't exist, one of three things is true: it is switched off, the person lacks the roles, or the address is wrong. The page doesn't say which, on purpose.
